hiking addicts and tafoni moni

It's official. I am addicted to hiking. I've been hoarding these scenic experiences in my mind. Always craving for more. New sites. Unrecognizable treks. Getting away from work life. It's astonishing what you find so close to you, but far away enough to make you feel like you really are getting away and enjoying Mother Nature for all she's worth.

This is probably my favorite place we've explored thus far. Skeggs point in El Corte Madera's Open Space Preserve. Just 20 minutes shy of the 101 onto highway 35. It's majestic out here and I love it. Shade, sun, empowering trees, and Tafoni rocks (sand stone rocks found particularly in the Santa Cruz mountains) like you wouldn't believe.

Brandon has officially banned my 60d from all treks due to my clumsy self and the result of 2 sprained ankles so my camera phone is doing all the labor of love with these photos.

Weekday mornings are best. Less people. No one to get in the way of your personal fun and exploring certain prohibited areas (i.e the photo below).
