Just got done eating out at my go to spot for all you can eat korean bbq. Shame on me. I know, as I've been trying to go from severe veggie to pesci these past few months. My cravings are insane for meat. Figure once a month of land animals doesn't hurt instead of forcing myself to go completely cold turkey and hating myself for it. Got to see one of my best friends Apple, her husband Martin and their adorable ham of a son, Maxi. I swear that kid is the goofiest youngin I ever met. It's crazy looking at them all together. Still baffles me how things have changed for them all in a span of a year.
The end of the year is approaching. No more weddings, just a couple of elopements till then. Hopeful for the new year. I keep myself busy at the restaurant and inspired as I can with flowers and nature.
This past weekend, I visited this gem of a nursery in my own little neighborhood here in Pacifica. I went early sunday morning. Complete silence. Not a soul was admiring.
The owner was there, though he sat in his chair and relaxed while I perused and snapped around. 3 elongated green houses. All so hauntingly lush. There was such a strange eerie-ness to the place. Dark, but in the most beautiful sense. I saw the wildest botanicals I've ever seen. Air plants with extraordinary personality.
It felt different than all the other times I have ever been surrounded by an assortment of living beauty. As if my own little piece of heaven came to life.
I also realized this was my 100th post. I've neglected you with my latest of tunes. So to celebrate my 100th rant, here's one of my favorite Malians, Sidi Toure. He was just here in California, but a couple hundred miles too far. Hopefully he comes back to perform closer to the Bay Area.
Probably my favorite take away show ever. You've got to watch. These kids' expressions are priceless. The last song brings out such a jolly, sincere human emotion out of Sidi.
