I love African music. I don't know as much as I would like to. I am always blown away by its realness and I am grateful that my passionate boyfriend Brandon is a musician who knows and is so open to sharing his love for it.
It's a trip where Africans feel music I tell yah. Sometimes I feel like I comprehend and feel it right where they do, but I quite don't .
Last night Brandon and I spent the rest of the night enjoying African music from Morocco after a terrible $4.99 spent on Comcast movie pick Wanderlust. We were 20 minutes into the movie thinking we'd get a few good cheap laughs out of it realizing we couldn't bear it anymore. We drifted from the couch to the computer area and Youtubed the rest of the night away. I love these kinds of date nights we have.

I was introduced to Gnawa music. It isn't only considered a genre of music but more so a spiritual behavior/religion. It's so raw sounding, organic and really out there. It's beautiful beyond words.
Here is one video of many from last night
I love the guy to the right of Hamid El Kasris (man in blue). He's got it down all right. His happy energy for the music is radiating. You can really tell the music comes from something much deeper. Such a trip
