putting yourself out there

My free friday elopement floral series is off to an interesting start. I went last friday to City Hall with bouquet and bout in hand. The remarks I get from couples on the rejection of wedding flowers-I don't get it sometimes. The last couple before the actual couple just blatantly said "NO". There wasn't even a "Thank You" after the NO. As if I was trying to shove flowers down their throat. I always come off calm and sincere with my offering.

I thought this was going to be easy. The idea that you are offering something for free that is. You automatically assume that couples understand the FREE aspect of flowers and would without a doubt take them. Guess it isn't always the case. I have to keep in mind that some folks are allergic to them, that the idea of holding a bouquet for a bride might be too much while saying "I do", or the mere factor that some people just don't like flowers (since I've heard never) and would rather not have them a part of their special day.

I guess patience is always key. I can't go walking into City Hall thinking that the right couple will just be there waiting for me. I've got to take my time and really scope out the place. The couples walking in and out. My sweet friend Apple recommended that I come in on a more random day of the week to offer free flowers. So I guess I'll have to call it "free whenever the hell I wanna elopement floral series".
