Women who flower

Last week I had the privilege of taking a floral workshop taught by some of the realest women I've ever met. My favorite, Miss Sarah Ryhanen of Saipua and the sweetest of them all, Miss Nicolette Camille.

Their floral shops are both located in Brooklyn New York, but they travel across the world with their Little Flower School to teach, inspire and give back however they can through flowers. They have completely transformed the art of floral design.

We took the time to examine them, learn their names, and most importantly smell their fragrance.

Women from all across the U.S came to take part in this class.

We were taught to create smaller scale arrangements and larger scale arrangements as well.

Before this whole workshop began, I felt like a loner. Diving on my own into this new business with flowers. I didn't know where to begin and how to go about doing things. All I knew was why I chose to do it and what has kept me going since then. I shared my story with Sarah and from the get, I completely balled my eyes out to her. All theses years I had been soul searching for something to come  my way. Something beautiful and miraculous. With the unfortunate death of my cousin's passing, I had found it. Actually, in the craziest way, my cousin had given it to me. When he passed, it had come. That spark. That instant need to create. With the help of my loved ones, I took charge in creating his floral funeral arrangements. Since then I look back, and have him to thank-with flowers and looking at life in a completely different way. This was a surreal experience. One I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
